Speaking at Festival VivaVoz in Bogotá: Giving Back to the Voice Community

Natalia Rosminati, speaker at Festival VivaVoz

Teaching is another way of saying thank you to this profession. That is how I lived Festival VivaVoz in Bogotá, Colombia — days of learning, meeting professionals, agents and producers from all over the region, and celebrating this craft together.

I had the joy of giving my conference, '3 Tools to Connect With Your Audience in a Unique Way', and my workshops on voice versatility: commercial work, promos and voice acting. Seeing one of the classes sell out, and the room full of colleagues asking, sharing and trying things — that is the kind of energy that recharges you for years.

The Spanish-speaking voice over community is enormous and generous, and gatherings like VivaVoz prove it: the same passion in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Mexico City or Los Angeles. If you work with your voice in Spanish, find your community. It changes everything.

Here is a glimpse of those days on Instagram.

What I teach in these workshops is the same thing I practice in the booth every day: versatility is not doing funny voices — it is knowing which version of your own voice each project needs. A commercial, a promo and an animated character ask for three different actresses living in the same throat. Giving workshops forces me to turn intuition into method, and my students' questions sharpen my own craft every single time.
