Earth Day With National Geographic: a Promo That Celebrates Our Home

Today is World Earth Day — and with the incredible team at National Geographic and Disney+ Latin America, we recorded this beautiful promo reminding us how important it is to care for our planet. I loved the line: 'The more we know our planet, the more reasons we have to care for it.'

My history with Nat Geo is long and dear to me: my site tells it proudly — I was the first female promo voice for National Geographic Latin America, and Nat Geo promos earned me Voice Arts Awards nominations in 2020 and 2021. The brand's voice asks for something very specific: wonder without solemnity, authority without distance. You are inviting people to fall in love with the planet, one promo at a time.

Documentary promo voice is a balancing act I adore: you are the voice of science and the voice of awe at the same time. Too solemn and it becomes a lecture; too excited and it loses authority. Nat Geo taught me to find the register of an enthusiastic expert — someone who knows exactly what they are talking about and still can't believe how beautiful it is.
