Women's Soccer on NBC Universo: Voicing Sports for the U.S. Hispanic Audience

Natalia Rosminati recording sports promos in her studio

How exciting it is to give voice to the unique energy that football brings! I am proud of this Women's Soccer TV On-Air Promo campaign for NBC Universo, connecting with the passion of millions of Hispanic fans across the United States.

Sports promos are their own discipline: the voice has to carry intensity without shouting, urgency without losing warmth, and it has to rise and fall with the images like one more player on the pitch. And when the protagonists are women athletes stepping firmly into territory that was denied to them for so long, the voice carries something extra: it is also making a statement.

I feel truly grateful to be part of projects that celebrate the intensity, the emotion and the culture that move sports — and to do it for the U.S. Hispanic market, where football is not just a broadcast: it is identity. My broadcast work for networks like NBC Universo, Telemundo, National Geographic and Disney+ lives exactly there, in that bridge between cultures.

You can hear a piece of the campaign on my Instagram, and more of this register in my promo demos.

Sports promo work in Spanish for U.S. networks has its own grammar: the read rides the highlights like a play-by-play, but it is selling an emotion, not narrating a match. You learn to hit the goal exactly on the beat, to lift the line where the crowd lifts, and to leave air for the sound design to breathe. It is the closest a voice session gets to playing the game.
