A Third Voice Arts Award: Plim Plim Wins at the 2026 SOVAS

Some news deserves to be shared even months after the confetti settles. On January 18, 2026, at the 12th annual Voice Arts Awards gala in Los Angeles, I received my third SOVAS: Outstanding Animation Character – TV or Web – Best Spanish Voiceover, for voicing Plim Plim.

A character that came full circle

Plim Plim — the little clown hero created by Guillermo 'Tita' Pino — is a character very close to my heart: I voice both Plim Plim and Nesho in the series. I had already been nominated for this role back in 2022, so winning it now, four years later, felt like the closing of a beautiful circle. Characters grow with you, and you grow with them.

Three wins, six editions

This award joins two others that mean the world to me:

• 2020 — Outstanding Dubbing, International – Motion Picture Film, for dubbing Kayla Pospisil (Margot Robbie) in Bombshell.
• 2022 — Outstanding Animation Character Demo – Best Spanish Voiceover.
• 2026 — Outstanding Animation Character – TV or Web – Best Spanish Voiceover, for Plim Plim.

Along the way there have been nominations across six different editions of the awards — among them Doc McStuffins (Disney Channel), promos for National Geographic, a PSA for the American Heart Association, and the HBO series The Last of Us. Every nomination is a reminder of how much talent surrounds this craft, on both sides of the microphone.
